Inter-Faith Food Shuttle (IFFS) pioneers innovative, transformative solutions designed to end hunger in our community. Since 1989, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle has been serving the Greater Triangle alleviating the growing issue of hunger. Efforts are sustained by broad community support including 2,400 volunteers donating more 43,383 hours last year. Annually more than 6.5 million pounds of food is rescued. Delivered food is distributed to 212 programs and agencies. Inter-Faith Food Shuttle actively serves children, adults, families and the elderly through proactive hunger relief programs.
Children’s Nutrition Programs
The five programs help service more than 2,000 children each month: Kid’s Café, School Pantries, Afterschool SNACKs, Summer Food program, and IFFS signature BackPack Buddies Program
A youth-tailored focus on wholesome, healthful foods that provide a foundation to increase classroom focus and academic performance while decreasing the risks of obesity and chronic illness.
