Miracle Home 2017

L & L of Raleigh is proud to partner with MIX 101.5 to build this year’s Miracle Home, with proceeds benefitting Duke Children’s Hospital. L&L President Warren Smith has his own Duke story- his wife, Julie, was treated at Duke for stage 3 breast cancer. Through that struggle, Warren credits the Duke team of doctors for saving his wife’s life.

Miracle Home Progress

As a way to give back, Warren and L & L of Raleigh are building a beautiful custom home in the new Falls Reserve community, with proceeds going to the Duke Children’s Hospital. After the groundbreaking in 2016 (see photos to the left!), the new Miracle Home is set to be finished in the fall of 2017 (progress above)! L&L is thrilled to be the builder of this year’s Duke Children’s Hospital Miracle Home.

About the Miracle Home Program:

The Miracle House concept for Duke Children’s Hospital first started in the early 2000’s with a Triangle-area builder’s desire to combine his life’s work with giving back to our community in a meaningful way.  After listening to that year’s MIX 101.5 Radiothon for Duke Children’s, his dream quickly began to take shape.

From the cost of inspections to the hard supply costs and labor, donations from vendors and subcontractors poured in to help support the project and provide funds for medical research and family-focused programs for both inpatient and outpatient care.  The builder’s vision resulted in a contribution of more than $105,000 from proceeds of the sale of the first Miracle House.  Since that time five additional Miracle Houses have been built and proceeds donated through the MIX 101.5 Radiothon to help the young patients at Duke Children’s.

The concept has been shared through the Children’s Miracle Network nationwide and hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised across the country, all sparking from one dream.
