Are you looking for something fun and exciting that you can do together as a family for Halloween? This year, Communities In Schools of Durham will host the 1st Annual Durham's Thrill of the Nerds at the Hill House on Sunday, October 28th from 3:00-6:00PM.


Dress up the whole family and come join us on the lawn of the historic Hill House! You and your family can enjoy live music on the lawn, kid's crafts, family games, costume contest, pumpkin hunt and food!


Your purchase of a ticket today is tax-deductible and will help support the programs of Communities In Schools of Durham. Your purchase will support our evidence-based programs that can be found in 27 schools serving nearly 5,000 students! Our programs help increase literacy rates, bring families together, help students reach graduation day and prepare them for life after high school.


On Sunday, October 28th from 3:00 6:00 PM you and your family can enjoy:
Kids crafts and activities to get them re
ady for Halloween! Activities will include making trick-or-treat bags, creating masks, crafts with pipe cleaners, pumpkin painting and face painters!


Family games on the lawn including chances to win Bull City Bucks, candy and prizes!
Live music! Bring your blankets and fold-out chairs and sit on the lawn and listen to some smooth sounds from local musicians.
Food donated by local Durham businesses, including popcorn and cupcakes!
A pumpkin hunt where your children can search for as many prized filled pumpkins as they can get!
Silent auction that you will love! All items and packages are inspired to help bring your family together including items for date nights and family nights. You can bid on gift certificates for baby sitters, maid service, season tickets, etc.
Costume contest, acrobats, stilt walkers and more!


Purchasing an event ticket today will give you access to the entire venue at a discounted rate. Event tickets purchased in advance will provide you with a wristband and 10 coupons that can be used for games, crafts, activities and food. Event tickets will be available at the entrance on the day of the event at a higher price with the option of purchasing more coupons. Tickets for adults are $10. Children between the ages of 2-12 are $5 and children under 2 get in free. Dogs are not allowed on property.
